Warmer Damm

From Valparaíso to Wiesbaden: With Un violador en tu camino (A Rapist in Your Path), the feminist performance collective LASTESIS ignited a literal movement that has reached far beyond the borders of Chile. Thousands of women and queers in cities around the globe have been inspired to take streets themselves to perform the choreography, a statement of resistance against sexualised violence.

For Wiesbaden Biennale LASTESIS is welcoming women and queer people of various backgrounds to take part in a joint work process. Using theatrical means, this production attempts to translate theories by Judith Butler, Paul B. Preciado and María Lugones through the participants' bodies and experiences. In the antagonism between oppression and joy, death and celebration, accusation and resistance, it's about defending the right to life free of violence in the context of colonisation and prevailing neo-extractivism.
